Garage Door Cables Replacement
Signs You Need Garage Door Cable Replacement:
Door is Crooked or Uneven: One side of the door might be higher than the other when opening or closing.
Door is Stuck: The door might be unable to open or close fully, or get stuck mid-way.
Visible Fraying or Rust: Inspect your cables (which run along the sides of the door, attached to the bottom brackets and winding onto drums near the springs). If you see rust, worn spots, or individual strands unraveling, they need replacement.
Loud Noises: Grinding, squeaking, or rubbing noises can indicate a cable issue.
Loose or Drooping Cables: If a cable is loose or has come off its drum, it's a clear sign of a problem.
Cables Have Fallen: In severe cases, a cable might completely detach and hang loose. Do not operate the door if this happens.
Door Crashes Down Unexpectedly: If the door drops suddenly, especially if you hear a loud bang (often accompanying a broken spring), the cables may also be compromised or snapped.
